Head in the Sand

Inspired by current issues, such as climate change, this piece is an allegorical, surreal look at the risks of complacency. The figure closes her eyes to avoid the dangers around her. The cuff on her wrist is undone, but she doesn’t move. It is interesting to think of the reasons why we don’t take action in situations that put us and others at risk, and sobering to think of the consequences. Hopefully we will take action soon to inspire change in the world around us.
